The internet has emerged as a big means of marketing. The social networking sites have catered to fulfill the communication needs of companies for promoting their products. Such sites have specially become important for the small and medium enterprises as the websites are an effective and easy means to improve upon their marketing strategy.
Internet serves the aspirations of people with varied interests and its reach is rising on a steady rate. Companies now have increasingly started to adopt this means of communication for marketing of goods though there was initial reluctance to do so. Moreover, the access to domains has increased for everyone. Earlier it used to be only companies using internet as a platform for marketing that used to purchase domains. But it is no longer so. Trends are changing.
Atul Gupta, CEO of RedAlkemi, at an IT conclave e-Revolution, says “Earlier, the users surfed the net and it was a passive means of communication for them. This has changed. People want instant reactions. Instead of listening to a recorded message asking them to buy a product they want a review from their peers.”
